1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GenCaption ("the Service"), creating an account, or purchasing a license, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and purchasers of GenCaption products. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

2 License Grant & Restrictions

Upon successful payment, GenCaption grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, lifetime license to use the GenCaption After Effects plugin for your own video production projects.

You are permitted to:

• Install and use the plugin on up to 2 machines that you personally own or control.
• Use the plugin for personal, freelance, and commercial projects.
• Use captions generated by the plugin in any video you produce.

You are NOT permitted to:

• Share, resell, sublicense, or redistribute your license key to any third party.
• Install the plugin on more than 2 machines simultaneously without purchasing additional licenses.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify the plugin files.
• Use the plugin to build competing products or services.
• Transfer your license to another person or organization.

3 Purchase, Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed on our website and may vary by currency (INR / USD). Prices are subject to change without notice. The price at the time of purchase is the final price you pay.

• INR payments are processed via UPI through our payment partner.
• USD payments are processed through our international payment partner.
• All transactions are one-time purchases — there are no recurring charges or subscriptions.
• Payment is collected in full at the time of purchase.
• Discount coupons, if applied, are valid only at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retroactively.

4 Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all purchases, subject to the following conditions:

• Your refund request must be submitted within 30 days of the original purchase date.
• You must have made a genuine attempt to use the plugin and encountered a technical issue that our support team could not resolve.
• Refunds will not be issued for change of mind, purchasing the wrong product, or compatibility issues with unsupported software versions.
• Once a refund is issued, your license key will be permanently revoked and you must uninstall the plugin.

5 License Key Usage

After a successful payment, a unique license key is assigned to your account and delivered via email. This key is tied to your account and is for your personal use only.

• Each license key is unique and linked to one account only.
• Do not share your license key publicly, on forums, or with anyone else.
• If we detect your key is being used fraudulently, it may be revoked without refund.
• Lost keys can be recovered by logging into your GenCaption dashboard.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and license key secure.

6 Updates & Support

Your one-time purchase includes free lifetime updates to the GenCaption plugin. This means all future versions, new features, and bug fixes are included at no extra cost.

• Updates are distributed through your account dashboard.
• We aim to respond to support queries within 24–48 hours on business days.
• Support is provided via email at admin@gencaption.com.
• We do not guarantee compatibility with future After Effects versions that Adobe has not yet released, but we commit to updating the plugin as quickly as possible after new AE versions launch.

7 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use GenCaption or any downloaded files for:

• Any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Creating content that is defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
• Violating any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our servers, databases, or other systems.
• Distributing malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
• Scraping, crawling, or systematically extracting data from our website.

Violation of any of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of your account and license without refund.

8 Intellectual Property

The GenCaption plugin, its source code, design, logo, branding, and all related materials are the exclusive intellectual property of GenCaption and its creators. All rights are reserved.

Your purchase grants you a license to use the plugin — it does not transfer ownership of the plugin or any part of its code to you.

• You may not claim ownership of the plugin or pass it off as your own work.
• You may not remove any copyright or attribution notices from the plugin files.
• The GenCaption name and logo may not be used without prior written permission.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GenCaption and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
• Damage to your computer, software, or project files caused by using the plugin.
• Interruption of service or inability to access the software.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

10 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and revoke your license key at any time, without notice, if you:

• Violate any provision of these Terms.
• Engage in fraudulent payment activity (chargebacks, disputes without genuine cause).
• Share or resell your license key.
• Use the plugin in a manner that damages GenCaption or other users.

Upon termination, you must immediately uninstall the plugin and destroy all copies. Refunds are not provided upon termination due to Terms violation.
