We collect only what is necessary to deliver our service. We do not sell your data to anyone — ever.

Short version: We collect your name, email, and payment info to process your order and deliver your license. We don't sell your data. We store it securely. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Security: Detecting fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of license keys.
Legal compliance: Maintaining purchase records as required by applicable law.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

We share your data only with the third parties necessary to operate our service:

5 Payment Data

GenCaption does not store your payment card details, UPI credentials, or bank account information on our servers.

All payment processing is handled directly by our payment gateway partners. We only receive a transaction reference number and confirmation of successful payment.

Your payment card or UPI PIN is never seen by GenCaption. All payment data is processed and encrypted by our payment gateway partners under their own privacy and security policies.

6 Cookies & Sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in during your visit. This cookie:

Is stored only in your browser, not permanently on our servers.
Expires when you close your browser or after 24 hours.
Does not track you across other websites.
Is used only for authentication and session state (e.g., applied coupon codes).

We do not use any advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics).

By using GenCaption, you consent to our use of strictly necessary session cookies only.

7 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service (e.g., delivering lifetime updates).

Account data (name, email): Kept until you request deletion.
Order and license records: Retained for a minimum of 5 years for legal/accounting compliance.
Support emails: Retained for 2 years, then deleted.
Session data: Deleted automatically when your session expires.

If you delete your account, we will remove all personal data associated with it within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

8 Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure:

Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing — they are never stored in plain text.
All connections to our website are secured via HTTPS/SSL encryption.
Database access is restricted to server-side code only — no direct external access.
License keys are assigned atomically — no duplicate assignment is possible.
Admin access is protected by separate authentication.

While we implement strong security practices, no system is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours.

9 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You can update your name or email from your account dashboard.
Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
Portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection: You can object to how we process your data at any time.

Note: Deleting your account will revoke your license key and you will no longer be able to receive updates. Your purchase record may be retained for accounting purposes as required by law.

10 Children's Privacy

GenCaption is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at admin@gencaption.com and we will delete the information.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we will:

Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Notify registered users via email if the changes materially affect how we use their data.
